Head to ADRIFT Kaya, a modern Japanese Izakaya at JW Marriott New Delhi, to transport to the lanes of Tokyo in a modern setting.
Itadakimasu! – a grace before eating food which is used to thank whoever worked to prepare the meal. If this polite gesture gives away any hint, it is that Japanese cuisine is refined and generous. Its rich food culture culminates from the term “washoku” that aims to bring harmony of taste and display to its world-renowned culinary. With an abundance of seasonal ingredients, you are served each meal, flaunting a variety of colours and traditional taste. And to savour authentic Japanese cuisine straight from the laneways of Tokyo- introducing ADRIFT Kaya, a modern Japanese Izakaya at JW Marriott New Delhi!
From Okonomiyaki (japanese pancake), Shaved okra salad with sesame vinaigrette, and Truffled mushroom and tofu gyoza (highly recommended), to a curation of assorted sushis with a spectacular presentation, Oscietra caviar, Chicken katsu curry served along with furikake rice, and Ginza parfait made of rose cream, pistachio, chocolate, and raspberry…….you can have it all. The decadent and exquisite array of traditional Japanese cuisine can be vouched by the Michelin star-rated Chef, David Myers.
Having travelled extensively across Japan and adopted its buzzing capital as his second home, David draws inspiration from the mesmerising streets of Tokyo and the ancient culinary craft showcased in kitchens throughout Japan. The menu at ADRIFT Kaya, although inspired by tradition, is defined by David’s signature Californian influence and features pristine quality of produce throughout.
The taste and the novelty are reflected in your plate as some of the ingredients are sourced directly from Japan. Even the wasabi is rubbed fresh in front of you. The bar offers a wide selection of sake and fine wines alongside its specially curated cocktail list by Jimmy Barrat, an iconic creator and trend-setter in the global bar. He is a former Diageo World Class #2 and brought Zuma onto the World’s 50 Best Bars list.
