Launching in 2018, a new £3.5million development is set to transform Scotland’s hotel sector. Fingal, a former Northern Lighthouse Board ship begins an exciting new chapter – a first for Scotland’s hotel sector.
Due to be permanently berthed in Edinburgh’s historic Port of Leith, Fingal’s unique nature, coupled with a crew delivering ‘best in class’ customer service, promises to create memories guests will treasure forever, whilst they experience the city from its shores.
This major investment by the Royal Yacht Britannia’s trading company, Royal Yacht Enterprises, will provide the ultimate in luxury. The 23 beautifully styled cabins, all named after Stevenson lighthouses, are inspired by Fingal’s rich maritime heritage.
With a cabin for every occasion – guests will be able to choose their own private balcony, a duplex cabin or, for that special occasion the stunning Skerryvore Suite.
This 237ft long ship will also provide an exciting new events venue for the city. The spectacular double height ballroom seats 80 guests and features a moveable skylight (large enough to lower a car through). Fingal can be exclusively yours – making it the perfect space for the brand and product launches, and private celebrations.
Head of Hospitality & Events, Andrew Thomson, said: “Fingal is like no other in Scotland. It is a privilege to take this historic ship and create a new, exciting and world-class addition to the Scottish tourism landscape. The craftsmanship and design, inspired by Fingal’s provenance and heritage, coupled with the best of Scotland’s larder will ensure our guests’ experience on Fingal is truly memorable.”
Whatever the occasion, the ship, its mooring, crew, and cabins will evoke a sense of adventure, and provide an escape from the everyday. A secure city haven, with the finest of foods, festivals, history and heritage just moments away.
