Action Comics #1 Sells for $3.2 Million
The first Superman comic sold for 10 pennies. This one began at 99 pennies on eBay and shot to the stratosphere quicker than a speeding slug. The winning bid was for $3,207,852 in August 2014.

This jump in cost for the comic (the $326,000 duplicate sold for not as much as a large portion of that five years sooner) has prompted a huge number of different copies of this comic going into market with costs ascending for duplicates in a wide range of conditions.
