ERIS HOME, established in 2021 is a vertical of Eris Global (founded 2017). The brain-child of Sanjana Lunia, ERIS HOME makes fabrics with a vision to promote non-violent silk practices while keeping in line with current trends as well as the need to keep age-old Assamese sericultural traditions alive. Despite the technological advancement, ERIS HOME chooses to bring forth highly-skilled, handcrafted opulence with a variety of textures, materials, patterns and prints. This only results in quality, responsible luxury. With the support of a majorly employed female workforce, the provision of fair-prices and livelihoods, ERIS HOME enriches local households and the community at large.
With its name inspired from the Eri silkworm, ERIS HOME sources its materials ethically with the belief that luxury shouldn’t kill. This is made possible with the help of its parent company Eris Global, India’s largest silk manufacturer and exporter. ERIS HOME’s commitment to sustainability requires a considerate wait of 45 days for the Eri worm to spin its cocoon and fly away. The result, a lustrous matte fibre. This finally gets processed into a yarn that is then converted to an elegant yet robust “Ahimsa Silk” fabric in Bengaluru.
ERIS HOME’s in-house designers, inspired by designs from the world’s best space designers, have developed fabrics that are suitable for all spaces. Inspired from nature around the world, the fabrics have been hand-crafted with colorways and weaves as per the in-house experts’ trend forecasting in line with the client’s demands. The designs aren’t printed, stamped or embroidered, instead, they are woven into the fabric itself, lending the fabrics their unique textures, colours, and designs. This traditional Assamese hand-spun silk yarn is further hand-woven into quality fabrics such as Jacquard. These hand-weaves, inspired by nature, create spaces that inspire warmth and an unmatched luxurious elegance.
