Renowned watchmaker, Omega marks the 60th Anniversary of Speedmaster with launch of Dual chronometers.
Six decades ago, Omega launched the first Speedmaster. A luxury sports and racing timepiece, reference CK 2915 of which the bezel was made of stainless steel and dial has broad arrow hands and powered with caliber 321 movement. It went on to become an icon; today, Speedmaster models often command months-long waiting times.
This year, the years old company again raises eyebrows with a pair of 60th anniversary pieces; the Speedmaster with racing dial for men and Speedmaster “Cappuccino” for women.
The men’s watch is linked to Speedmaster’s motor racing heritage, it returns again, this time on a matt-black dial. Other notable features on the dial include the orange markings and bevelled 18K white gold arrowhead indexes that are filled with white Super-LumiNova.
Living up to its name “Cappuccino” is crafted from stainless steel and 18K Sedna™ gold, while the strap has been made from taupe-brown leather.
One of the watch’s most interesting features is the diamond-paved bezel that also includes a tachymeter scale on a brown aluminium ring.
This dual design has enabled OMEGA to add the elegance of diamonds and also retain the sporty DNA of the original Speedmaster models.
