This year the streets and runway are going to be filled with a sea of blue. So why not add a dash of the colour to your office wear to beat those Monday blues?
A familiar yet calming shade of azure, this year we’re going to be incredibly blue.
According to Pantone, Classic Blue was selected as the colour of the year 2020 for its “timeless and enduring hue, which is elegant in its simplicity.” Pantone further added that it resembles the sky at dusk, and the reassuring qualities of the thought-provoking hue bring a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit.
While blue dominates the wardrobe of many men and women, let us be your helping hand to add this to your office wear. So get on board and let’s decode how you can add Classic Blue to boardroom dressing.
1.) Mix & Match
One can never go wrong with white and blue. It’s possibly one of the easiest ways to incorporate the colour of the season into your wardrobe. Think a crisp white shirt with trousers in Classic blue, a perfect option for both men and women to add the hue and stay fashion-forward.
2.) Suit Up!
If you like to be OTT then nothing gets better than a Classic Blue suit. While men can opt for brown oxfords to style the look, women can choose nude colour pumps to add the right amount of height.
3.) A Blue Tie Affair
Ties make any outfit look formal, and if you’re not one who likes to experiment a lot, you can choose to keep it simple and understated. A thin tie in Classic Blue can instantly elevate your outfit making you look extremely dapper in a split second!
4.) The Blue Dress
All ladies take note, just like the little black dress introduce into your wardrobe the little blue dress. The perfect choice to take you from desk to dinner. Style it with a trench coat in the same hue for the board room or teamed it with statement earrings and a sparkly bag for a night out!
5.) Cufflinks & Buttons
Keep it subtle as you incorporate blue cufflinks into your workwear wardrobe. Jazz up your basic white tee with cufflinks and buttons in Classic Blue to get heads turning.
6.) The Nerdy Look!
Spectacles have become the biggest fashion accessory, so why not have a little fun with them? Quirk things up as you opted for classic blue frames and stand out from the crowd.
7.) Bag It!
Sometimes it’s good to play it safe. It’s impossible to step out for a day at work without a briefcase or a handbag, so why not add a pop of colour to your outfit with a Classic Blue handbag?
8.) Fancy Feet!
Footwear is an important part of dressing and often people underestimate its power. Let 2020 be the year about putting your most fashionable foot forward (quite literally). Be bold are embrace blue loafers, and all you ladies be as experimental with your footwear as possible!
So immerse yourself in a sea of blue this 2020 even in the corporate world!
