Have you ever walked into a pub and seen wooden tables with flowers or seashells buried inside of them? Perhaps you have seen a bar counter that has a high gloss on it, one that enables the bartender to slide a glass across without scratching up the finish. You too can create the same types of bars or tables for your home! It is not difficult to achieve that glossy and scratch-resistant finish. You simply need to create your table and let some resin do the magic.
Creative Ideas for Your Wood Surfaces
For the best result, it is always a good idea to add a creative flair to your projects! This could include adding photographs or small items to your surface, creating a custom marble effect with different dyes and paints, or designing a mosaic with small objects like bottle caps, rocks, pebbles, or pennies, to name a few. Some other popular additives are bottle labels from your favourite drink, among many other options.
Add some glitter
You can take your creativity to the extreme or keep it relatively simple. For example, a more simple idea could be adding glitter and mica powder to give your surface a glistening or colourful effect, whereas a more difficult idea could involve creating a river table type bar top with lights embedded throughout the surface. The possibilities are truly endless- just follow a few steps and you will have your own custom wooden table or bar top.
Acrylic Bar Top Epoxy
You can create or remake an old bar top using acrylic paints and epoxy. You simply have to choose the design or colour, apply your paint, and then lay thin layers of epoxy over it. You can add more layers of epoxy to get the desired depth. All that you have to do is, add several layers to raise or increase the thickness, and then take your lights to the side. Your lights should glow throughout the bar top and highlight the wooden texture and designs inlaid inside.
Wine caddy – resin wine glass holder
If you’re looking for a unique addition to a bar cart, or a fantastic host gift, this wine glass holder made with resin is just what you need. There are numerous themes to choose from – galaxy, unicorn, gradient, ocean, marble, wooden mix, quartz, floral, metallic, etc. You may also insert a few words or a quote like ‘It’s Wine o’ clock’ within the resin. Such designs really uplift the ambience of the bar counter.
Wine bottle stopper
A unique way to add glamour to the wine bottle stopper is by adding resin, geode and crystals. It is very attractive and glamorous. You might design the bottle stoppers according to the type of wine – a light pink resin wine bottle stopper for Rosé, a deep scarlet resin stopper for Red wine, and a golden or beige resin stopper for White wine. You may extend the specific theme of your bar and choose wine bottle stoppers that complement it.
Decorating wine glass with resin
To impress your guests, use wine glasses decorated with resin. One can use glitters, crystals and make glasses glamorous to sip it from. In order to decorate wine glasses with resin, you can either decorate the entire glass with resin or if you feel ‘less is more, you can even decorate just the base or the midriff of the goblet, or just the stem of the wine flute. A marble effect laced with just a little metallic swish can be super classy and add to the glimmer of your bar counter.
Introducing some resin or epoxy to your homes can truly levitate the vibe of the bar counter in your living spaces too. The smooth and lustrous finish of the resin delivers a clean and cutting edge look that is sure to impress anyone whom you invite for a drink. The next time you think of remodelling or adding some life to dull or mundane niches in your living spaces, you know resin is here to save you!
