Women, by nature, are the givers, the carers, the nurturers, and prioritize others above themselves. Especially, in India, we frequently find women being multi-taskers and with a tendency to balance their work, family, social and private life beautifully. Naturally, Women’s Day must be taken as an excuse for women to pamper, prioritize, and give some thoughts about themselves, before anything and anyone else, at least for one day. Preety Tyagi, Lead Health Coach, Nutritionist, and Founder of MY22BMI, shares six of her best ways to show yourself some healthy love this Women’s Day, for a week!
Women’s health should be of utmost importance, and this day must be celebrated keeping it your main focus. Here are six relaxing ways to celebrate this week of Women’s Day in an exceedingly healthy way:
1) Start The Day With A Healthy Drink
Ensure a nutritious start to your day by indulging in a very healthy smoothie, a detox drink or a healthy protein mix drink to start out your morning. It’s the best way to kick start your day on a healthy note and to plan a good day ahead. The drink can be anything from a wholesome avocado, cucumber smoothie, to a mixed berries almond milk smoothie, chia seeds coconut smoothie, carrots, and beetroot smoothie, to a green smoothie, counting on your preferences. Add a spoonful of protein powder to turn any smoothie into a great protein-rich smoothie. Don’t start your day with a cup of coffee to ensure a healthy mental state as the day progresses.
2) Have A Morning Workout To Kick Start Your Special Day
Make sure you are doing yourself a favor by indulging in a good workout to begin your day. Also, include a good warm-up session to your workout and end with a good cool-down session. You can pick any workout of your choice – a good cardio workout, some weightlifting workout, core strengthening workout, some dancing for your heart, a decent outdoor run, a pleasant and long bike ride, a pleasant swim in the pool, or maybe a long brisk walk. Be it anything, just pick up yourself and do it. You’ll thank yourself later for making that choice.
3) Some Self Love For Your Care
Show yourself that extra care by booking yourself a body massage session or a spa/sauna session. Book that long waited facial to allow your face muscles a lift. Book yourself that long-ignored full body checkup at the clinic. Opt for a breast analysis and book your cervical cancer vaccination. This Women’s Day, show your body some care by doing something extra for it. You have got to go out of your way and take that step.
4) Shop Your Way To Healthiness
While thinking of shopping yourself a present this Valentine’s Day, quit on the idea of that handbag, jewelry, or outfit. Instead, buy yourself some healthy vitamins and minerals supplements that may ensure a healthy mind and body for you. Select that nice workout clothing that will make you want to work out more and more. Buy yourself a gym/workout membership. Get yourself an expert nutritionist or health coach to guide you towards having a healthy life ahead. Associate yourself with people who share similar health goals and work your way ahead with them.
5) Encourage Fellow Women To Steer A Healthy Lifestyle
“Sharing is caring” stands extremely true and it’s important to analyze what it is that we are sharing. This Women’s day, while you are specializing in your health, encourage your friend, colleague, neighbor, coworker, fellow women to do the same for themselves. Create a trickle down effect of women’s health on this Women’s Day.
6) Ensure A Goodnight And Peaceful Sleep To Finish Your Day
All’s well that ends well!! It’s of utmost importance to have a good night’s sleep to confirm a good overall health. Don’t let your entire efforts move to waste by not ending the day right. Don’t spend your nights working late, or worrying about the subsequent day’s routine, or getting involved in Social media. This women’s day, give yourself a good night’s sleep by following a healthy good night routine and sleeping like a baby.
