NEW ZEALAND

Peter Jackson’s Lord of The Rings trilogy has changed the way people thought about the beautiful country of New Zealand. What was once known as Australia’s neighbour, now not only has an identity of its own but is also one of the world’s top tourist destinations. The country gets tourists from all over the world just to experience the beauty and tranquillity of the island country.

PETRA, JORDAN

Though inscribed in 1985 UNESCO’S World Heritage Sites, this was not a big tourist destination and was unknown in the early 1980’s. But ever since the release of TheTransformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, The Mummy Returns, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade hit the theatres, tourists from all over the world have experienced the grandeur of the ancient ruins.

ANGKOR WAT, CAMBODIA

The 2001 blockbuster Lara Croft: Tomb Raider not only made Angelina Jolie a global name but it also brought to frame the breathtaking beauty of Angkor Wat and its enthralling temples. The movie brought an isolated country of Cambodia into one of the most sought out destinations in the world.

SKELLIG MICHAEL, IRELAND

The location, a UNESCO-listed island off Ireland is known for the filming of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Skellig Michael is the spot where an exiled Luke Skywalker is found and while the island is uninhabited, you’ll find it full of intrigue if you take a tour.

GLENCOE, SCOTLAND

The pure scenery of Scotland managed to steal the limelight from Daniel Craig and Judy Dench in the final scene of 007 flick, Skyfall. The sweeping panoramas include Glencoe and its surrounds—including the majesty of nearby mountain Buachaille Etive Mor.

St. Vincent and Grenadines became the ideal destination for the filming of the first Pirates of the Caribbean film.
