Started learning horse riding or riding a horse for the first. But you take off, there are a few tips for beginner riders to keep in mind.
If you take the time to understand a few of the basic principles of horsemanship, you will be better equipped to successfully and confidently partner your horse – and fully enjoy your ride. When next time when you go ranching, take a deep breath and exhale out the nervousness, anxiety and calm your excitement down. Follow these five horseback riding tips to make the most of your trail rides.
The first thing you do is to develop a bond with the horse you are going to ride. It’s very easy to do that you just need to stay calm and do not look directly into the horse eyes. Like every animal horse also absorb your vibes so keep the fearless and relaxed. Let the horse smell you his helps in creating a bond with the horse.
Horses are generally trained to accept riders mounting. You are always instructed to mount the horse from the left side as they are trained so. While mounting if there is a lot of movement by the horse let it stand still. Don’t hurry and always keep a check on your balance.
There is a thumb rule for every rider to keep a check of his posture while riding a horse. A straight line should be drawn through the rider’s ear, shoulder, hip and heel. Your shoulders and back should be straight, and the widest part of your feet should be positioned in the stirrup. If you are still uncomfortable do check the seating alignment once.
Once you are enjoying the ride you don’t wish to put an end to it. But you cannot ride for every so to keep the art of stopping the horse in mind. It is not to stop the horse it requires a combination of verbal cues, body positioning and rein movement. You start by saying “whoa”, after which you pull the reins backward simultaneously you push the seat deeper into the saddle.
There are situations where you need emergency stop technique control of the horse. Not a difficult technique as compared to the situation where you might have to use it. Hold the reins tightly with both your hands and pull on one side until the horse’s head turns.
