The result of a collaboration between pastry shop Ladurée and fashion house Marni, is a combination of food and fashion. Made from the most premium ingredients, this chocolate macarons are bite-sized and delectable covered in a thin sheet of gold foil, adding a sense of beauty and extravaganza.

Where: Serendipity 3, New York
Available at Serendipity # in New York, this one is a Guinness World Record holder. It combines 23-carat gold leaf covered and Amedei Porcelana chocolate drizzled Tahitian Vanilla ice cream, gold-coated almonds, candied fruit from Paris, and sweet Grand Passion Caviar infused with passion fruit, orange and Armagnac. With ingredients from all over the world, this desert has to be ordered 2 days in advance and it is served in no less than a crystal goblet.
The Thousand-Dollar Bagel
Where: Westin Hotel, New York
Crafted by Westin Hotel chef Frank Tujague, the classic soft bagel was given a flavorful makeover when it was available from November 1 to December 15, 2017. The bagel is topped with Alba white truffle cream cheese, goji-berry Riesling jelly and speckled with gold leaf. It is exclusive to the breakfast menu, and has to be ordered 24 hours in advance and all proceeds go to Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen.
The Golden Phoenix Cupcake
Where: Bloomsbury’s Cupcakes, Dubai
These chocolate cupcakes are made of Amedei Porcelana chocolate and Ugandan vanilla beans. It is topped with chocolate frosting and edible gold dust. With a couple of chocolate-covered strawberries, this extravagant delight is to be eaten with a gold spoon.
Sultan’s Golden Cake
Where: Ciragan Palace Hotel, Istanbul
Featuring an infusion of rare French Polynesian vanilla and a topping of caramelized black truffles, this cake is coated with 24-karat edible gold flakes at the end. With such remarkable ingredients, this cake needs a 72-hour notice to be prepared.

Leaf Brand, a US based candy company, made these in conjunction with David Klein, the inventor of Jelly Belly. These jelly beans are coated with gold and comes in a crystal jar.
Cadbury Wispa Gold Chocolate Bar
Cadbury’s Wispa Gold bar was discontinued in 2003 and then revived by fans of the chocolate, launching a campaign to bring them back. Cadbury obliged and took out what was literally the gold edition of the chocolate to commemorate it- A Wispa chocolate bar covered in gold leaf wrapper. Touted as the world’s most expensive chocolate bar, it was put on display in jewelry store in London, while the re-launch happened in 2008.

At the price of 2000 glazed doughnuts, this spectacular combines not just 24-carat gold leaf and gold-dusted white chocolate flowers, but also edible diamonds and Dom Perignon 2002 champagne jelly. There is also an accompanying cocktail made from raspberry and passion fruit syrup, Courvoisier Cognac, and more Dom Perignon 2002. Some of the proceeds from this doughnut’s sales benefit the Children’s Trust, a charity for children with brain injuries.
